Suggest a site for the local plan

We must identify additional land for development as part of our Local Plan 2040. This will meet the needs of our residents and businesses up to 2040.

We want to look at a number of options, so we can choose the most suitable sites for new developments.

Call for sites

If you have any suggestions for sites when we are developing the Local Plan, we want to hear from you. This is known as a 'call for sites'.

This call for sites does not determine how many new developments we need, or which sites will be allocated for development. It's an opportunity for local residents, community groups, business operators, landowners and developers to suggest sites that they would like to be considered as part of the Local Plan 2040.

Before you start

You will need to provide the following information in this service:

  • details of the person or organisation you're representing
  • the site boundary
  • a pre-application reference if you have had any pre-application discussions with the council about this site
  • potential site constraints and how you plan to mitigate them
  • the development’s scale and the number of homes or jobs you think the site could accommodate

What happens next

We will look at the options suggested and choose the most suitable sites for new developments.

Submitting a call for sites does not mean it will be allocated for development.
